Retail and consumer goods
We decide which product is worth making, with the numbers in front of us.
We work with retail and consumer goods brands before the product exists. We read the market with data, look for the real gap, shape the concept and stay with it through launch. Once the brief is closed, we are usually too late to help.
How we work
Five steps, in this order. None of them gets skipped.
Quantitative market analysis
Consumption data, market shares, prices and category trends. Without that base, everything else is opinion.
Growth gaps
Where demand is unmet and how big it is. We rule out gaps that will never carry enough volume.
Product concept
What it is exactly, who it is for, what it promises and what the shopper will compare it against.
Design and packaging
Shape, format and packaging, designed for the shelf, the factory cost and the regulations.
Pricing and launch
Price positioning, margins by channel and a market entry plan with milestones and owners.
What we don't do in this area
Saying it upfront saves everyone a few meetings.
We don't manufacture
We own no plant and hold no stake in one. We source and vet suppliers, but production is yours.
We don't distribute
We don't place product or negotiate with retail chains. We define the channel; the negotiation is yours.
We don't take closed briefs
If the product is already decided and only needs executing, other studios will do it better and cheaper.
How to hire us
We start with a conversation and an initial read of the category, at no cost. If there is something there, we propose a phased scope with a fixed price per phase. You can stop at the end of any phase.
Is there a category you want to enter?
Tell us which one and within days we'll say whether we see a gap.
